St. Joseph couple chased through Maryville

Maryville Police encountered a car that was reported stolen from St. Joseph Sunday morning at 10:04.

The stolen vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit began that led officers in and out of Maryville at high speeds. During the pursuit, the suspects allegedly called 911 to report two people had been shot at the Village O Apartments, which authorities found no evidence of. The stolen vehicle crashed at the T- intersection at 245 and 242.

The female driver and a male passenger were both taken into custody for warrants in Buchanan County and St. Joseph. The female was taken to Mosaic for injuries sustained in the crash and the male was taken to Nodaway County Jail. Charges are pending in Nodaway County.
